Transitioning Into The Australian Way Of Life

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) over thirty percent of Australians were born overseas, this is due to the enormous number of migrants that we take in every year. Australia receives migrants from every corner of the world, understandably it can be quite difficult for many of these people to transition into our way of life, many migrants take years to feel as though they’re truly part of Australia. The difficulties that arise in transitioning can also make it difficult for many of these migrants to find effective employment, prolonging their transition period.

The Pek Care employment program is aimed at helping these migrants transition into our society quicker and aid them in finding employment. Our employment program is primarily targeted at African migrants, as many members of our organisation are very familiar with the African people and the challenges they face with migration to Australia. To date we’ve helped many migrants assimilate into the Australian way of life, put down roots in their community, find work and contribute to society.

A Whole New Culture

Anyone who’s gone travelling overseas will know that in every part of the world people have a different culture and a different way of life, getting to experience these many different cultures can be very exciting and enjoyable. When faced with the task of assimilating into a foreign culture, many people are understandably overwhelmed and can struggle making the required changes.

We help people more effectively make the transition into Australia through assisting them understand and adopt our culture. Some challenges are greater than others such as learning not only the English language but also the unique way in which Australians speak English. We help people tackle the large challenges as well as the small, even little things like understanding what clothing is normal for Australians to wear can be immensely helpful for migrants to understand.
