A Helping Hand In Tough Times

Times have been getting tougher over the last decade for hard working Australians, since the global financial crisis (GFC) we’ve never fully recovered. With stagnating wage growth, increasing housing costs and a significant drop in available jobs, many Australians have found themselves battling to hold everything together and stay employed. As a result we have many people who want to work but find themselves unable to obtain full time employment.

The Pek Care “Work for the dole” initiative is designed to help individuals get back into the work force and find fulfillment in work again. We’ve helped thousands of Australians to get back into the work force, get off of the dole and make a meaningful contribution to society. Sometimes people just need a helping hand to pull them out of the tough times they’ve been going through.

Unlocking New Opportunities

Over the years we’ve found that one of the major barriers stopping people from getting back into the workforce is a lack of experience in new fields. People often lose their jobs because the industry they were working in has adopted more and more automation, unfortunately that means that those lost jobs are never coming back. It can be very daunting for people to have worked in their chosen field for most of their life to suddenly find that the work is simply gone, many people find it overwhelming at this point to try and learn new skills and join a new profession.

At Pek Care we’re lucky to have connections with a range of businesses and firms across Australia, this helps us understand what businesses are looking for in employees and gives us a unique insight into how to help people find work. After many discussions with a range of industry leaders, we’ve found that work experience is the key to unlocking new work opportunities. We run a range of work projects designed to mimic real world working conditions, our projects are aimed at giving people the opportunity to learn new skills and get a feel for what sort of work they would enjoy doing.
